start

Start something. That dream you have always had, that desire that can’t be silenced – start chasing it now. Enough time has been wasted thinking about it, planning it, problem solving it, projecting it and getting it “perfect”.

Just start it.

And stuff it up. Make mistakes. Learn from the mess and start over.

Again and again.

Do it without too much thinking and when you least feel like starting, push yourself to do it. Take the steps needed and if you need to make those steps tiny, do it – as long as you take them.

One day you will be where you wish you were now. Don’t wish this moment away. Use this moment to its fullest, wringing out every last drop. Then do the same to the next moment.

And one day you will look back and realise where you are is all a result of that first step took today.

So start.

focus

At times we can get so tangled up in our own lives that we forget the rest of the world exists. We focus so intently on ourselves, picking apart every aspect of our lives. Eventually we come up for air and are shocked by the millions of other worlds happening around us.

Our own orbit has us in a self-centred trance. We are hypnotised by our own patterns and stories. Our mind is consumed with our own existence.

We must resist the temptation to obsess over ourselves. We must remember to connect with others, to listen to their stories, to help them if we can, and to try to see life from their perspective. By doing this we not only connect with others, we connect with ourselves.

We are here to learn, grow, contribute and be part of something bigger than ourselves. Whilst our own worlds can consume us entirely, the reality is that our individual worlds are minuscule. By focusing on something so tiny we are missing the vastness of all else.

Look up and out. The world is waiting for you.

act

Overthinking is a major hurdle we come up against in life. It stops us progressing and tricks us into believing we are actually doing more than we are. When we overthink, we welcome procrastination. With procrastination comes fear, and with fear comes frustration, stagnation and self doubt. Confidence drops, and progress slides. If you allow it to, procrastination will drain the life out of you.

We possess a tool to overcome procrastination. That tool is action. Fear wants us to procrastinate. It wants us to listen to self doubt. It wants us to stay small.

Scare fear off and don’t allow procrastination to limit your experience.

Embrace action. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and instead of thinking about doing things, actually do them.

Overthinking is keeping you small. It’s time to be bigger.

dream

In order to express ourselves fully and share our gifts with the world, we must follow our hearts and resist the urge to focus on money as a goal. This is a difficult task as we live in a world ruled by fear, greed, consumption and instant gratification. We have been fed a twisted reality of what matters. Our perspective has been distorted and we must realign ourselves with ourselves to regain focus, control and clarity.

If money were no object, what would you do with your life?

You could say you would retire, do whatever you want, travel the world… but then what?

The question you need to be asking yourself is actually this: What is it in me that is bursting to get out? What is it that I feel I was born to do? What is it that sets my soul on fire?

These are the questions that will get you back on track. These are the questions that will realign you with who you really are.

We have dreams, all of us, yet so many of us get tricked by the stories we are told. These stories have been fashioned for one reason – fear. These stories are controlling you and limiting your experience.

Fear is not reason enough to give up on your dream, and it is certainly not reason enough to stop dreaming in the first place. Fear as we know it today is an invention, an illusion. It did serve a purpose and that purpose is to protect us, but our idea of something we need protecting from is well out of line with reality.

Fear has taken control of the part of us that used to get excited. It has taken us hostage, and we have stopped believing there is a way out.

For one day, forget about money. Forget about security. Forget about tomorrow. Truly believe you have all you need. Truly believe you are all you need to be, and breathe.

Find your passion in the silence. Find your passion in this space, free of thinking and free of excuses. Your truth is in you, you just need to listen to it.

We get one go on this ride. Spend it in line with who you really are.

Discover your dream and bring it to life.

play

Play is such a huge part of growing up, but just because you get older does not mean the playing has to stop. It’s not some magical, special activity reserved for children. It is part of being a human.

When we become adults we lose our sense of playfulness. We become serious, and too sensible to play. We are told that playing is for children, and we become out of sync with our natural desire to play. We lose contact with our inner child. We forget how to have fun.

This is where it all goes wrong! Play can be incorporated into so many areas of your life, and by doing so you don’t only enjoy each task more, but you become happier and tap into the incredible power of creativity.

Creativity is a direct result of play. Play can help you come up with ideas, solve problems, gain perspective and be fully present in the present moment.

Challenge yourself to play today, and everyday. Don’t think about it, just do it. Unleash your creativity. Invent some games, throw some paint around, buy an instrument.

Allow yourself to be really bad at something, and enjoy being bad. Play with your new toy, and have fun with your playfulness.

Your only goal is to feel joy.

speck

We are each a grain of sand on the beach of existence, forever on the move.
Sometimes we are in the water.
Sometimes we are in the sun.
Sometimes we are in seagull poo.

zzz

Short and sweet is all my weary eyes can handle right now. It’s late and I’m sure my pillow is stuffed with pieces of heaven. For all of the complaining about the cold weather I do, I find myself full of gratitude come night time.

Ain’t no hot water bottle quite like you My Sweet ;)

exit

One day it will all end. We get so caught up in the tiny details of life, but the inevitability of our exit from this physical realm is a great reminder about what really matters.

So many silly things consume us. We bitch and moan and worry to the point of illness, and even then – when our bodies and souls are screaming for relief – we continue to miss the point. We continue to live a life that is out of line with our true selves.

The small things won’t matter in time, and the things we think are big right now will become small in time, and eventually they won’t matter either.

Time will pass. Things will change. You can choose to hold a grudge, or you can choose to get over it right now – before it gets a chance to sink it’s hook into your soul.

Your energy is a precious gift. Share it with others, create a wonderful life with it, chase your dreams, fall in love, follow your bliss and don’t even consider wasting it on things that aren’t deserving of it.

Your journey could end tomorrow. Make sure you leave this place with joy in your heart and smile on your lips.
